Malayalam film Pallichattambi is struggling at the box office. Directed by Tovino Thomas, the period action drama got off to a good start but failed to maintain the same momentum over the weekend.
It started with Rs. 3.05 crore in Kerala, followed by a big drop on the second day, where it took Rs. 1.75 crores. It declined further on the third day and added Rs. Tally 1.20 crores. Pallichattambi saw a nominal increase on the fourth day, followed by another jump on the fifth day, when it recorded Rs. Earned Rs. 1.70 crores.
This brought its extended opening weekend revenue to Rs. Earning Rs 9 crore at Kerala box office. It’s not an encouraging weekend start for the Tovino Thomas starrer. The film has a guest appearance by Prithviraj Sukumaran, but it is not attracting much audience in theatres. A major factor behind its disappointing performance at the box office could be the mixed word of mouth, apart from strong competition from Wazaa 2, which shows no signs of slowing down in the near future.
Pallichattambi has almost sealed its fate at the box office. From here, the film should aim to remain at a low level for long enough so that it can reach a respectable total by the end of its theatrical run.

The Tovino Thomas-led film also stars Kayadu Lohar, Sudheer Karamana, Vijayaraghavan, Baburaj, TG Ravi, Alexander Prashanth, Johnny Antony, Vinod Kedamangalam and Nibaraj Naushad. It is directed by Dijo Jose Antony.
