Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan underwent surgery on Saturday (April 18) following a sudden health problem, with doctors advising him to take rest for about ten days. His wife Anna Lezhneva later shared a brief update, reassuring fans that he was recovering. Following the news, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and many other actors took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery.

Health updates and official statements

The development was first confirmed through a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Minister’s office. It said Pawan Kalyan had been suffering from health concerns for the past few months and fell seriously ill while performing official duties on Friday. After medical tests including MRI, doctors recommended immediate surgery.

The statement read: “Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri @PawanKalyan underwent surgery on Saturday evening. On Friday morning, while discussing administrative matters with his officials, he suddenly fell seriously ill. He has been facing health problems for the last few months.”

The statement said that on the advice of his personal doctors, he canceled his official program on Friday and went to the hospital. There, medical tests as well as an MRI were conducted and after reviewing the results, doctors decided that surgery was necessary and performed the surgery.

It further mentioned that doctors have advised that he can resume official duties after a week to ten days’ rest, although long-term precautions will be required and complete recovery is expected to take longer.

Anna Lezhneva later posted on Instagram Stories, “He is recovering. All is well. Thank you (sic).”

Celebrities wish him speedy recovery

Many celebrities and political figures wished him well. “Kalyan Babu has successfully undergone a medical procedure and is now safe, stable and recovering,” Chiranjeevi wrote on Instagram.

He said, “According to the doctors, it may take about a week for him to return to his normal routine. There is no reason to worry. Thank you all for your love, concern and prayers. Let us keep him in our thoughts and wish him strength, comfort and a speedy recovery.”

Allu Arjun wrote, “Wishing @PawanKalyan garu, Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, recovery and continued good health. May you be back with full strength soon.”

“Wishing a speedy recovery to Shri @PawanKalyan Garu, Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh. You will return to public service soon with new strength and good health,” Jr NTR shared.

Following the news, Sai Dharam Tej tweeted, “Get well soon my dear Chinna Mama Pawan Kalyan. With people’s love and prayers, I send my deepest love for your speedy recovery. The surgery went very well, and I hope to see you serving people again in no time. Take care of your precious health.”

Naga Babu also wrote, “Our dear leader @PawanKalyan has successfully undergone a medical procedure and is now safe, healthy and recovering. He only needs a few days’ rest, and soon he will be back with new strength and energy. Let us all come together to wish him a speedy recovery with prayers and positive thoughts.
