Prices are rising everywhere, leading some people to choose mid-range or flagship killer phones instead of premium flagships. If that’s you, are you looking at the Poco X8 Pro or X8 Pro Max as your next phone?

Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max at a glance
Poco
We praised the X8 Pro Max a lot in our review – the phone offers flagship-grade features at a mid-range price. The camera is the only component that doesn’t punch above its weight – that said, it’s still good for a mid-range phone.

Poco X8 Pro Max
Poco
This is a mid-ranger that doesn’t pretend otherwise, but it chooses its components wisely – the Dimensity 8500 chip is a great performer, the storage is fast UFS 4.1, the 6,500mAh battery has impressive endurance and the camera is pretty solid.

Poco X8 Pro
There is a lot of competition from Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Vivo V70, Realme 16 Pro+, Nothing Phone (4A) and others. Pocos has the advantage of global distribution (without North America), which some alternatives lack (e.g. the iQOO 15R is great, but good luck finding it outside India).

What about the Poco X8 Pro – it’s a little smaller and cheaper, making it better suited to some people’s budget and needs. is that you?
