Actor Aditya Uppal, who recently shared screen space with Sanjay Dutt Dhurandhar: RevengeHas revealed about the actor with whom he hopes to collaborate next time. In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Uppal talked about his admiration for Farhan Akhtar and reflected on his experience working with Dutt.

In a candid conversation, Uppal revealed that Farhan tops his wish list, citing his deep connection with his work. He said, “I would really love to share screen space with Farhan Akhtar. I really admire his kind of cinema and his work as an actor. I think there is a lot to learn from him.” He said, “If I had to name one person, it would definitely be Farhan.”

Calling it an “unconventional choice”, Uppal said that he admires the way Farhan has carved a niche for himself both as an actor and filmmaker.

During the same conversation, Uppal also recalled his experience of working with Sanjay Dutt, admitting that there is an inherent feeling of fear when sharing the screen with a legend.

He said, “Obviously you feel intimidated. He is a senior actor, a name we have all grown up watching. But the beauty of Sanjay sir is that he makes everything very comfortable. He brings with him a certain charm that instantly lightens the atmosphere on the set.”

Uppal said that Dutt’s presence helped elevate his performance. He added, “He creates a space where you can live in character, play and even improvise. He really lets you be.”

Describing himself as a long-time fan, Uppal said the experience was extremely personal. “I’ve been his fan since childhood, so standing next to him feels like an accomplishment in itself. Sharing screen space and dialogue with him was really special.”

Recalling the moment that was memorable for him, Uppal said, “Even during my close-up shots, he decided to stay back and do the scene with me instead of moving away and using a double. That kind of support means a lot, especially for someone like me.”

Talking about their first conversation, Uppal said that it happened directly on the set due to lack of time. “I was cast at the last minute, and my first meeting with him was directly on the set in Amritsar during the Hamza party scene. I remember touching his feet and honestly telling him that I was one of his biggest fans, someone who had grown up watching his films on VCR.”

He said, “I told him how much I admired his work, especially Sadak and Saajan. That’s how the conversation started and everything became very easy from there.”

When asked about Dutt’s most impressive performance, Uppal said, “I think road was very interesting, and also, villain It is one of the most important films of his career and one of my favourites.”
