Malayalam actors including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj Sukumaran cast their vote in the Kerala Assembly elections 2026. Their presence at various polling stations was widely shared on social media, drawing attention to the ongoing democratic process.

Mammootty was seen voting with his wife Sulfath Kutty at a polling booth in Kochi. The veteran actor arrived wearing a brown long-sleeved shirt and black sunglasses, and his demeanor was calm and collected. Their participation highlighted the influence of public figures in encouraging voter turnout.

After Mammootty, his son Dulquer Salmaan was also seen leaving the polling booth. Prithviraj Sukumaran voted at a station in Ernakulam, Kochi, while Mohanlal cast his vote early in the morning and shared a selfie showing his inked finger, urging fans to vote.

The Election Commission of India said 16.2 percent voting took place across Kerala till 9 am. More than 2.6 crore voters are eligible to vote in this election, with 883 candidates contesting in 140 constituencies. Official figures show that the voters include 1,38,27,319 women, 1,31,26,048 men and 277 voters registered under the third gender category.

To facilitate voting, authorities have set up 30,471 polling stations across the state. These are supported by 119 logistics and voter machine distribution centers and 41 counting centres.

Kerala Chief Electoral Officer Ratan U Kelkar confirmed the deployment of 1.46 lakh trained polling personnel across the state to ensure smooth conduct of elections.
