Though the album remained available on Apple Music, its sudden disappearance from Spotify left fans and industry insiders confused until it reappeared on the platform.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vulture 1 has faced a number of problems since its debut, including delays and canceled listening events. Five days after its release on February 10, the album was removed from iTunes and Apple Music, but it returned on February 15 for no apparent reason.

The project was initially rejected by its distributor FUGA. However, through a violation of the service agreement and some automated processes, the music made its way into the applications. As a result, FUGA temporarily removed it and worked with DSP partners to fix the problem.

Vulture 1 has been embroiled in several controversies since its release

¥$ – American hip hop supergroup consisting of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign released their debut studio album Vulture 1. It was released independently through West’s YZY brand on February 10, 2024 and featured guest appearances from artists such as Kim Kardashian and YZY’s daughter North West, Quavo of Migos, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, India Love, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Playboi Carti, Bump J, Lil Durk, Rich the Kid and Chris Brown. The album was primarily produced by West alongside others such as Legendary Traxster, 88-Keys and Camper.

Recording for the album began in Italy last October, followed by a three-month stint in Saudi Arabia. The album suffered multiple delays and tracklist changes until its final release. Originally teased for a late 2023 release under its working title ¥$, it was eventually renamed Vulture 1 as the inaugural installment of a series of albums.

Spotify first faced streaming problems when Donna Summer’s estate sued them for copyright infringement, leading to the removal of the track Good (Don’t Die) from their platform. The song was later removed from Amazon Music as well.

Despite these setbacks, Vulture 1 topped the Billboard 200 chart dated February 24, becoming Kanye West’s eleventh number-one album and Ty Dolla $ign’s first. According to Luminate Data, the album earned the equivalent of 148,000 units in the US in its opening week.

The incident comes amid speculation about West’s career. Last week, Rich The Kid shared an alleged message from West that suggested he might retire from the music industry. “I’m retiring from professional music. I don’t know what else to do,” Ye wrote.

Rich was quick to respond, urging Kanye not to retire and emphasizing the cultural impact his music has had on the industry and society.

However, Rich the Kid later announced that Yee would be joining his upcoming LP Life’s a Gamble, which is set to be released on July 19. About thirty minutes later, Rich deleted the original Instagram Story exchange containing Yee’s alleged retirement message.
