The combined market valuation of six of the top 10 most valuable companies at the holiday-shortening last week was Rs. 64,734.46 crore, with Bharti Airtel the biggest hit, reflecting broader weakness in equity markets.

Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex was down 263.67 points or 0.35 percent and the NSE Nifty was down 106.5 points or 0.46 percent.

“Markets ended lower for a sixth straight week, falling by nearly half a percent, reflecting increased volatility due to a mix of global and domestic uncertainties.

Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, said, “The holiday-short week started on a weak note as heightened US-Iran tensions and a sharp rise in crude oil prices weighed on sentiment.”

However, markets started to recover mid-week, supported by easing geopolitical concerns and softer oil prices, he added.

“Despite this recovery, volatile global cues, continued foreign institutional outflows, rupee weakness and inflationary concerns continue to increase volatility,” Mishra said.

Bharti Airtel has a market valuation of Rs. 29,993.07 crore reduced to Rs. 10,20,420.26 crores.

ICICI Bank is valued at Rs. 12,845.81 crore reduced to Rs. 8,70,705.49 crores.

Bajaj Finance from its market valuation of Rs. 11,169.36 crore loss, which is Rs. 5,14,226.12 crore remained.

HDFC Bank’s market capitalization (mcap) is Rs. 7,822.79 crores down to Rs. 11,56,195.90 crore and the market cap of Hindustan Unilever was Rs. 2,349.59 crores down to Rs. 4,85,190.60 crores.

State Bank of India has a market capitalization of Rs. 553.84 crore reduced to Rs. 9,41,015.31 crores.

In contrast, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has a market valuation of Rs. 22,359.78 crore increased to Rs. 8,87,028.43 crores.

Infosys’ mcap is Rs. 12,374.76 crore increased to Rs. 5,27,409.43 crore and Larsen & Toubro’s Rs. 6,575.43 crore to Rs. 4,97,111.62 crores.

The market valuation of Reliance Industries is Rs. 3,518.45 crore increased to Rs. 18,28,034.07 crores.

Reliance Industries retained the title of most valuable company, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Unilever.
