Kakuda: Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh’s horror-comedy to release a day earlier; watch it here

Sonakshi Sinha and Riteish Deshmukh are gearing up for the release of their upcoming film Kakuda. The horror comedy was scheduled to release on July 12, but now the streaming platform has revealed that it will be available a day earlier.

Sharing this news, Sonakshi also expressed her excitement and said that she cannot wait to tell the story of the film to her fans.

Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Kakuda’ is now streaming

Streaming platform ZEE5 shared on their official Instagram handle that Kakuda will release today on July 11. The streaming time will start at 7:15 PM. Sharing a video of the film, they captioned, “Your biggest fear will knock today at 7:15 PM. All men, keep your doors open.”

Sonakshi Sinha re-shared the story and wrote, “Ok #Kakuda decided to come a day early. Boo (ghost emoji)”

Meanwhile, Kakuda is now streaming on the OTT platform.

Zaheer Iqbal becomes a cheerleader for wife Sonakshi Sinha at Kakuda screening

Yesterday, on July 10, a pre-release screening of Kakuda was held. Apart from many Bollywood stars, the actress’ husband Zaheer Iqbal was also present at the event to cheer for his wife and her film.

A video on Instagram shows Zaheer making a stylish entry. When he spotted Sona from a distance, he proudly said, “Arey meri biwi” and hugged her. The two then posed for the camera before heading to the cinema hall.

Riteish Deshmukh reveals whether Kakuda has taken a dig at Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa or not

Speaking to Zoom, Riteish Deshmukh said that the filmmaker always takes references from successful films. Denying that Kakuda is taking any dig at Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, he said, “It is a tribute to them.” He also mentioned that there is a line in the film, “Bhooton se darr nahi lagta, insaan se lagta hai” and said that it is not a dig at Dabangg or Sonakshi Sinha’s lines but a tribute to them.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya fame and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Kakuda is now streaming on ZEE5.

In the trailer, we see that the story of Kakuda is set in a fictional haunted village called Ratodi, where every house has two doors: a big one and a small one. The small door is for a ghost called Kakuda. The film is a love story in which Saqib’s Sunny falls in love with Sonakshi’s Indira. However, Kakuda’s curse turns their lives upside down.
