Will Dhurandhar The Revenge be able to cross Rs. crore? Earned Rs 1000 crore and became the highest grossing film in India?

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has taken the box office by storm since its release last week and has broken almost every Hindi film opening record. The focus now is on what kind of records it will break and what standards it will set for absolute performance. No prizes for guessing that it will definitely become the highest-grossing Hindi/Bollywood film of all time. One benchmark it is eyeing is Rs. 1000 crore nett. Also, can it possibly take over Pushpa: The Rule as the highest-grossing film in India? At this point the answer appears to be yes and maybe.

By its second Friday, the film had collected Rs. Earning around Rs 606 crore in Hindi. Based on Friday’s earnings, the film should be able to collect more than Rs. 150 crore nett, potential Rs. Earned Rs 160 crore in the second weekend. This brings its total to Rs. Will be just north of. 700 crores earned till Sunday, about Rs. 725-735 crore nett or so. From there Rs. The way to. If it is less than Rs 1000 crore, it reduces significantly. 300 crores are left.

Looking at recent big collections (table below), except the extreme case of Dhurandhar (3.37x) and Animal (1.34x), most other films have been able to add 2x to their total in their second weekend. If Dhurandhar: The Revenge manages this, it will cross Rs. Net mark of Rs 1000 crore. There’s Gadar 2 at 1.64x, which probably could have been 1.75x if there wasn’t less competition, but other than that, it was a mass masala film, which comes frontloaded. Better performance can be expected from Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

weekend
multiplier
stalwart Rupee. 135.50 crores. 3.37
Pushpa 2 (Hindi) Rupee. 115.00 crores. 2.04
shade Rupee. 101.50 crores. 2.36
woman 2 Rupee. 92.75 crores. 2.10
Animal Rupee. 91.50 crores. 1.34
Ghadar 2 Rupee. 88.50 crores. 1.64
young Rupee. 77.00 crores. 1.94

Historical multiplier figures aside, if we look at the trajectory of the film, it grossed around Rs. Should be. Earning of Rs 725-735 crore after second Sunday. By the end of the second week, it will reach Rs. 800 crore net mark, and at the high end, around Rs. It is likely to happen. 825 crores. The third week is an open week, with Friday being a holiday, making a minimum of Rs. 100 crore nett, although more likely around Rs. 125 crores. After that only about Rs. Rs 50 crores are left. 1000 crore net, which should be done. At the high end, the film is probably trying to clear Rs. 1050 crore net mark and around Rs. 1100 crores, which, if say second weekend, would be Rs. Rs 165 crore would be about a 2.2x multiple, so you have that covered too. However at this point, a more reasonable target would probably be Rs. Will be around. 1050 crores.

Talking about the highest grossing film in India, Pushpa: The Rule earned Rs. 1371 crore (Rs 1136 crore net). Apart from the original Hindi version, there is also a South-dubbed version of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is going on to make Rs. 50 crore nett. This means that on a high note, the film could become the highest-grossing film in India. Of course, there is still work to do, and the actual data in the second and third weeks will have more clarity.
