Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond starring Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha and Aditi Bhatia has collected Rs. 1 crore on the third Monday. The film has dropped 25 percent compared to last Friday, to say the least.
The running queue of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond has reached Rs. 40 crores earned in 18 days of theatrical run. The film could have easily crossed the Rs crore mark. Had there been another free week the figure would have been Rs 50 crore, but now it is around Rs. Looking for a dramatic ending. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge arriving in theaters on Wednesday evening has earned Rs 45 crore.
The original film was a blockbuster, earning Rs. Collected Rs 6.75 crore and Rs. Earned Rs 220 crore during his entire tenure. Being a sequel to a big blockbuster, generally big numbers are expected, but that is not the case here. Some films from the region enjoyed major success in early 2020, but have seen a decline since then. For example, The Bengal Files fell below The Kashmir Files. Kashmir Files 2 will also see a big drop from the original, but it will perform well for its cost.
