After the box office failure of Retro, Suriya is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Vishwanath & Sons. The actor unveiled the teaser on Monday, March 16. The teaser introduced Suriya as 40-year-old Sanjay Vishwanath, a professional pistol-shooter who brings laurels to the country by playing the sport at the international level. Mamita Baiju plays the character of Maddy, an independent-minded young girl who is almost half Sanjay’s age. As per the teaser, Maddy has fallen in love with Sanjay and wants to settle down with him, while Sanjay objects due to the age difference.
The 1 minute 44 seconds long teaser ends with a cliffhanger, where Suriya can be seen holding a baby. Although there is no talk about the child in the teaser, it seems like it will be Sanjay’s child.
The teaser is colourful, youthful, light-hearted and romantic. Suriya and Mamita together made a perfect choice for their age-appropriate roles. The film also stars Radhika Sarathkumar, who recently gave a super hit film Thai Kizhavi, and Raveena Tandon. Details about Raveena’s character have been kept under wraps.

Written and directed by Venky Atluri, the film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and presented by Srikara Studios. The film features music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Nimish Ravi, editing by Naveen Nooli and production design by Bangalan.
The film is expecting a grand theatrical release in July 2026. It will be interesting to see whether it can mark Suriya’s comeback at the box office or not. For those unaware, his last two releases, Retro and Kanguva, received a disappointing response at the ticket window. The fate of Vishwanath & Sons will be important for Suriya, he said.
