Kim Seok-jin, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, recently shared stories about his time in the military in an interview with Weverse Magazine and how he lost his temper at a fellow soldier. The interview took place shortly after he was discharged from mandatory military service, giving a glimpse into his personal experiences and how he coped with challenges.

The ‘Magic Shop’ singer admits his flaws, saying, “Everybody makes mistakes in life.” He talked about a time when he lost his temper at a soldier, saying, “A soldier did something wrong but kept joking and said, ‘I’ll figure it out myself, sir.’ I told him, ‘It’s okay if you make mistakes. I make mistakes too. But if a senior soldier tells you to do something, you should at least pretend to listen. You can’t do stupid things like that.'”

In addition, Jin’s squad members nicknamed him “God” due to his kindness and generosity. The singer shared that he was more financially stable than his teammates, allowing him to buy dinner for them. He said, “I spent my military pay and more to buy food for everyone. (laughs). Since many of them were just turning 19 and had never had a job before, I would say, ‘You need to eat well to stay healthy. Come on, let me make you a feast,’ and pay for their meals. I bought them so much fried chicken, jokbal, and pizza that they eventually got bored of them.”

“I would also take people from other barracks out for barbecues. Sometimes people would joke, ‘Sgt. Kim, did you do anything other than sleep today?’ I would reply, ‘Which barrack are you from? I was supposed to buy you dinner tonight, but not anymore. You’re not coming with me!’ They would apologize, and we would just joke around, and I would still buy them dinner. (laughs). That’s why I got the nickname ‘God’ from my squad, not that I’m bragging. As soon as they saw me, they would say, ‘Worship him!'” Jin concluded.

Recently, Jin has been busy filming a variety show and recording new music.
