Amidst the Middle East crisis, Donald Trump made a big claim saying that Iran is ‘about to surrender’. The US President said this during a virtual meeting with G7 leaders on Wednesday, as reported by Axios quoting three officials of the G7 countries.According to the report, while talking about the outcome of Operation “Epic Fury”, Trump told aides during the Group of Seven call that he had “got rid of the cancer that was a threat to all of us.”Trump also reportedly said that “No one knows who the leader is, so there is no one who can declare surrender.”The revelation came as Trump attacked Iran’s leadership on Friday, calling them “deranged scoundrels” and saying it was his “great honor” to kill them, as the conflict in the Middle East entered its second week with intense exchanges of drone and missile attacks across the region. He said Washington was carrying out the strikes to “militarily destroy Iran’s terrorist regime,” referring to the US military’s major campaign against the Islamic Republic.Meanwhile, reports from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East suggest that Iran may have attempted to target the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Tehran has also claimed responsibility for shooting down another US jet during a refueling mission, although Washington has described the incident as an accident. However, US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed that, “The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group continues to support Operation Epic Fury and Project Power from the sea. However, it did not provide any details about the incident.
