Dhurandhar The Revenge Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s film continued its momentum, reached the top. 13 crores for preview

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been on sale in India for the last four days. As of now, paid previews were on sale exclusively on Wednesdays. Now the wait is for the booking to open for the remaining days of the opening weekend, which can happen today. If they do not do so, it will be due to conflicts arising between the distributor and the national chains over revenue sharing of the first film and showing exclusivity for this film. This is primarily the first one which is serious and if accomplished would be quite unprecedented. An agreement is likely to be reached eventually, but this may delay the start of bookings for the weekend. Still, such a delay is unnecessary.

The film has earned Rs 10 crore so far. The total gross for the paid previews was around Rs 13 crore, making it the biggest paid preview ever for a Bollywood film, surpassing Rs. The total earning of Stree 2 is Rs 8.75 crore. The target is for the Indian record, which is held by They Call Him OG (earnings of Rs 26 crore). As of now, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is in a good position to take it.

The strongest response to progress has come from major metropolitan circuits like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. A center like Bengaluru is closing at Rs. Earning of Rs 2 crore, which is unprecedented. Apart from the fact that Dhurandhar was a big blockbuster in urban centres, these centers are more accustomed to previews. Patronage for late night shows is also better than for smaller stations, which perform better for daytime shows, especially in the Hindi belt.

The Ranveer Singh starrer has maintained a steady pace after a big opening on Saturday. Normally, one would expect the momentum to slow down significantly in the middle part of such a long pre-sales window, but the film has kept going. Even yesterday it was about Rs. Connect. Its total earning is Rs 1.75 crore, which is very good. There are still seven days left and the way the film is gaining momentum, it is expected that it will cross the Rs 1 crore mark. Net 25 crores in the last pre-sale, possibly more. However, with the remaining weekends opening today (if they open at all), momentum is likely to be affected as the public will have more shows to book and that too at lower prices. Still the path to Rs 20 crore nett plus advances for previews remains open, unless of course the film continues a steady pace without being affected by the opening of advances for the remaining weekend.
