Director Vetrimaaran is currently working on his upcoming film Arasan, starring Silambarasan TR in the lead role. As the spin-off film is in the works, it appears that the filmmaker may work on a film with Vada Chennai 2 and Kamal Haasan before joining hands with Suriya for Vaadivasal.
Does director Vetrimaaran want to work with Kamal Haasan?
According to online reports, director Vetrimaaran is expected to join hands with Kamal Haasan for a new film. Reportedly, this rumored project is being financed by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, who is also producing Arasan. However, this remains a rumor right now and an official confirmation from the manufacturers is still awaited.
Apart from the possible Kamal Haasan project, the director is also expected to first film Vada Chennai 2 with Dhanush and later move on to the project Vaadivasal with Suriya.
Vetrimaaran’s work front
Vetrimaaran is currently shooting for the film Arasan, starring Silambarasan TR in the lead role. The gangster actioner Vada is based on the Chennai cinematic universe and serves as a spin-off of the Dhanush-starrer. Along with Vijay Sethupathi in the co-lead role, the film also stars Tourist Family fame Yogalakshmi and Chaitra J Achar in lead roles.
The music in the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with the director.
Kamal Haasan’s upcoming movies
Kamal Haasan was last seen in the lead role in the film Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam. The film starred STR in the co-lead role, along with Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Mahesh Manjrekar and many others in important roles. The film received an overwhelming response from both critics and audiences and is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
The actor will next be seen in the lead role in a film tentatively titled KH237. Directed by action duo Anbarivu and written by Syam Pushkaran, the film will have music composed by Jake Bejoy. Although official confirmation is still awaited, the shooting of the film is expected to begin after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are over.
Additionally, Kamal Haasan is expected to reunite with Rajinikanth on the big screen for an upcoming film titled KHXRK Reunion, which will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
