Wall Street’s major indexes opened sharply lower on Tuesday as investors braced for the impact of the expanding conflict in the Middle East on inflation and global trade.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened down 411.7 points, or 0.84%, at 48,493.11. The S&P 500 fell 81.4 points, or 1.18%, to 6,800.26 at the opening bell, while the Nasdaq Composite shed 456.5 points, or 2.01%, to 22,292.37.
