Faced with increasing instability in the Middle East following the death of Iran’s supreme leader, actor Vivek Oberoi has shared a message urging peace and unity. He also advised people to avoid unverified information during this sensitive time.

Vivek wrote in his ex-post, “To my extended family in the UAE, I know the headlines may seem overwhelming at the moment, but remember that the foundation of this land is built on peace, resilience and an incredible sense of togetherness. Even though we come from over 200 different countries, we are part of an incredible community that takes care of each other as one big family.”

In an appeal to those living in India, Vivek cautioned against the spread of unconfirmed reports. He stressed the importance of handling the developing situation with sensitivity and responsibility.

The actor said, “To those back home in India: Let’s keep everyone in our prayers. Don’t be a bridge to panic. Seek out the source and only trust verified media. Choose empathy over everything else. Truth will always be the strongest shield we have. Sending peace and light to every home in the emirate.”

His statement has come at a time when many Indian celebrities including Ajit Kumar, Vishnu Manchu, Sonal Chauhan and Esha Gupta are also stuck in UAE.

Iran confirmed on Sunday that its supreme leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in massive US-Israeli air strikes, and declared 40 days of national mourning after what officials described as the most widespread attack on Iranian territory in decades.
