Madhavi shared that she wished for someone who would truly love and care for Vijay and understand the demanding nature of her profession in the film industry. Echoing his sentiments, Govardhan Rao said he wanted his son to marry a person of his own choice, regardless of caste or religion. She said that she would be happy if Vijay marries an Indian, especially a South Indian. Vijay, who was present at the event, made light of the moment by reiterating his belief in love marriage and jokingly said that the choice would be his, but his parents would also have to like the girl.
