Eric Dane talks to teenage daughters in conversation revealed posthumously
As part of the platform’s interview series, Famous Last Words, Eric Dane’s final conversation on camera was revealed to the world. This included confirmation from both parties that it would be shared only after his death. So, a day later, it was released globally for the star’s fans. He spoke to his children, looking into the camera to the best of his ability, and said, “Billy and Georgia, these words are for you. I tried. I faltered sometimes, but I tried. All in all, we had a blast, didn’t we? I remember all the time we spent at the beach, the two of you, me and Mom – in Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico. Now I watch you spend hours playing in the ocean, my water babies. Those days, as said It was heaven.”
He shared his four greatest lessons in life, with the advice to live in the present being his number one lesson. He wanted them to cherish every moment and not dwell on the past, as he did. The Euphoria star also wanted his kids to be in love, whether it’s with another person or someone else, and it’s up to them to decide. He shared his passion for acting and how it brought some of the best and worst days in his life. His third piece of advice was to find friends who are there not only for the good qualities but also for the bad ones, and don’t hesitate to call you out, because they are the ones who can shape you.
Finally, he shared how he should never stop fighting and living, no matter what. He said, “Fight with every particle of your being and with dignity. When you face challenges, health or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight till your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my soul.”
Eric Dane’s final words came after a request for privacy as his family mourns and tributes from countless co-stars and fans. He welcomed two children with actress Rebecca Gayheart in 2010 and 2011.
