She further added, “Believing any woman to be inferior to the nearest man is a limiting part of the society we operate in. I spent a decade as a lead actor and walked away from it when I found the misogyny to be too much. I spent another decade setting up and running a successful art practice so I could have complete financial and intellectual freedom. People will catch on.”

Responding to negative comments

When asked if negative comments affect her, the actor said, “When other people say nasty, derogatory things about you, it says more about them than it does about you. We live in a world where women are judged first by their looks and then by their personality. I will continue to be the best, do the best work that I can. Haters will hate, lovers will love.”
