Rajkummar Rao clarified that his changed look is for an upcoming biopic. She shared insights on her physical transformation.

Rajkummar Rao’s recent pictures from a public event on Sunday have sparked concern among fans, with many pointing out his noticeable weight gain and changed hairline. As soon as photos of the appearance circulated online, social media was flooded with questions about the actor’s transformation.
Addressing the speculations, Rajkummar clarified on Instagram that the change was deliberate and for the title of his upcoming biopic Nikam. In a detailed note, the actor revealed that he recently completed shooting for the film and has undergone physical transformation to portray the character authentically. The actor will play the role of government lawyer Ujjwal Nikam in the film.
“My existence is through my art,” he wrote, adding that the role required him to gain about 9–10 kg. He revealed that he deliberately avoided prosthetics and instead chose to rely on physical changes achieved through diet and discipline. This transformation included gaining weight, changing her appearance to appear older, and even thinning her hair – she admitted that her hair stylist was initially opposed to the move.

The actor is now stepping into ‘Ganguly mode’, referring to his upcoming character of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada.
