As artificial intelligence is rapidly entering the creative industries, Abhishek Bachchan has sounded a note of caution, warning that its uncontrolled use could pose serious risks to artistes. speaking in ET Now Global Business Summit 2026The actor acknowledged that while AI has the power to transform filmmaking, it also raises troubling questions about creativity and authenticity.
During the session, Bachchan said, “AI scares me. It should scare every actor.” “In the creative field, AI is going to revolutionize a lot of things. But if it is not used responsibly, it can be harmful for actors.”
The actor acknowledged that AI can be extremely useful behind the scenes, especially in areas like animation, visual effects and post-production. “This will reduce a lot of our work hours and may also reduce your budget,” he said. However, Bachchan stressed that from a creative perspective, AI-generated content lacks the emotional depth that comes from human effort. “I have seen many products that are AI-generated. They are wonderful, but they have no soul. There is an incompleteness to humanity.”
Bachchan also pointed out that the impact of AI is not limited to cinema only. He said sectors like medicine and law may also face major disruption. Admitting that he is unsure about the long-term effects of AI, the actor said he is still trying to understand the rapidly evolving technology.
“As far as creative work and films are concerned, I am unsure whether it will be beneficial or not,” he said. “I don’t have a full understanding of the AI landscape, so I’m not very comfortable with it. I read and learn a lot about it.”
