O Romeo box office second day: Collection of Shahid’s drama increases on Valentine’s weekend
Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri’s new film O Romeo saw a significant rise in box office collections on its second day, which is a promising start despite the actor’s under-performance from his previous hits.

The film, which was released in theaters on Friday, opened in India with a collection of Rs 8.50 crore. On Saturday, it saw an impressive growth of 45 percent and collected around Rs 12.25 crore. With this, Hey Romeo! It has earned a total of Rs 20.75 crore at the domestic box office in just two days.
Trade analysts attribute this growth mainly to the Valentine’s weekend, which encouraged couples and young audiences to step into theatres. This increase also points to increased curiosity and initial buzz around the film.
However, despite the upward trend, Hey Romeo! Yet to match the pace of Shahid Kapoor’s 2019 blockbuster Kabir SinghWhich had earned Rs 22.71 crore on the second day itself. that comparison place Hey Romeo! Its second day of growth remains encouraging, albeit at a more modest level.
On Saturday, the film ran in 4,747 shows across the country and recorded an average occupancy of 19.3 percent. Although these numbers indicate consistent viewership rather than packed houses, it appears that the Valentine’s weekend surge has worked in the film’s favour.
Produced under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, the film features a strong ensemble cast that includes Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwari, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Nana Patekar along with the lead pair. The diverse casting has been a topic of discussion and may have helped attract a wider audience.
Hey Romeo! Tells an emotionally charged story of love, loss and consequences. According to the producers, the film explores “the irreversible consequences of rejected love”. The story takes inspiration from a chapter in Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, giving the film a serious, real-life edge beneath its romantic core.
