The festival of colours is here and the merriment is in full swing. Holi is that time of the year when getting painted in every colour becomes a norm. We wear white to get drenched in a multitude of colours. From vibrant blues to vibrant reds, bright pinks and hot yellows – colours are flying everywhere. Just like us, our favourite Bollywood celebrities are big fans of Holi, but they too love wearing white. How do we know? Well, B-town stars Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh recently spoke to NDTV’s Abir Dhar about their Holi plans.

Wearing a strapless LBD by Rahul Mishra, Ananya Panday’s Holi look was a far cry from a designer’s number. The actress was quick to reply that her favourite Holi outfit was ethnic. “A white kurta and pyjama,” she said. “I want to be as colourful and messy as possible,” she added, adding that the “new temporary” traditional selection would be from a designer’s wardrobe that she would keep in her closet for “memory purposes”.
Sara Ali Khan wore a glitter-drenched silver Varun Chakkilam lehenga at LFW. Though the actress chose the glitzy route for the runway, her Holi outfit of choice was as basic-chic as can be. Unlike Ananya, Sara revealed that her ideal choice would be a “white shirt and shorts”. However, in case of plan B, she would prefer to wear a pair of denim jeans.
This year, Rakul Preet Singh will celebrate Holi for the first time after tying the knot with her longtime partner Jackky Bhagnani. Indeed, it is a special occasion for the newlyweds. Talking about her favourite Holi outfit, the actress steered away from white for a change. "Usually people prefer white, but I like to wear something with shorts and a colourful T-shirt." Breaking down the specifics, Rakul further added that she "loves a good neon or hot pink with some nice shorts."
