Mrunal Thakur quashes marriage rumors with Dhanush: ‘I think February 14 will be April Fool’s Day’

Mrunal Thakur is all set to be seen in the lead role in the upcoming romantic film Do Deewane Sehar Mein, which will release on February 20, 2026. Talking about the film, the actress opened up about the rumors of her tying the knot with Dhanush and rubbished them forever.

While talking to Galata Plus, Mrinal Thakur was asked whether she was going to get married soon. In response, the actress said, “Me? No, no. I think February 14th is going to be April 1st, which is April Fool’s Day. I don’t know who started it. It’s a scary place right now because some people have spread rumors like ‘Mrunal has officially confirmed her marriage.’

For those unaware, Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush were reportedly going to tie the knot this month. Reports claim that both the actors are planning to tie the knot soon. However, it seems that now the actress herself has dismissed these rumours.

Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s workfront

Mrunal Thakur will next be seen in the lead role in Do Deewane Sehar Mein, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. This romantic drama tells the story of two socially awkward millennials in Mumbai who find love while struggling with self-acceptance. As they fight insecurities and social pressure, their journey takes them from the chaos of the city to the peace of the mountains.

Directed by Ravi Udayawar, the film also stars Ila Arun, Joy Sengupta, Ayesha Raza, Inesh Kotian, Sandeepa Dhar, Deepraj Rana, Mona Ambegaonkar and many others in lead roles. This film will be released on 20 February 2026.

Apart from this, Mrinal will also be seen in the lead role in the film Dakait. The romantic action film, starring Adivi Shesh, is expected to hit the big screens on April 10, with reports postponing its March 19 release date to avoid clash with Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic.

Meanwhile, Dhanush will next be seen in the lead role in the film Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja. Along with Mamita Baiju in the co-lead role, the thriller also stars Karunas, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu and others in lead roles.

Additionally, the actor recently launched his next film, tentatively titled D55, co-starring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela.
