Mahesh Babu reveals he was nervous after hearing Rajamouli’s description of Varanasi
Mahesh Babu recently revealed that he was nervous when SS Rajamouli narrated Varanasi. The actor recalled what he did to deal with that moment.
Actor Mahesh Babu, while talking about his first meeting with filmmaker SS Rajamouli, recalled how he was excited and nervous on hearing the story of the upcoming film Varanasi, before he eventually became comfortable with the process.
In a post shared on the official X page of the film, Mahesh Babu recalled the day he was offered the film. “I went to SSR’s office and heard the narrative, and it blew my mind. I was really excited. I remember going home and talking to my wife; it was intimidating. I loved the way he presented his heroes and the kind of film he was attempting to do, and I was a little nervous. But the more I met him, he eased me into the process, and now I’m really enjoying it.”
In the same post, Rajamouli revealed that “about 25 minutes of the film is based on the mythological period.”
The film, which also stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead role, has been locked for release on April 7, 2027.
During the title glimpse event of the film in November 2025, SS Rajamouli revealed that he had filmed an important Ramayana episode in it. VaranasiWhich is established in Kashi.
