Govinda’s manager rubbished rumors that the actor was involved in any criminal or violent incident recently. Breaking his silence amid online speculations about Govinda’s involvement in such incidents, he revealed that the actor had defended himself against a group of unidentified people in an incident that took place last year. However, he did not say when the incident took place.

Answering a journalist’s question, “Is there any misconception that someone will kill him?”?” (Is there any fear that someone might kill him?), the manager strongly protested against what he described as exaggerated and malicious narratives.

He said, “The nonsense that is being spread in the market that Govinda has become this or that – nothing like that has happened.” He said, “No one knows him better than us. I know Govinda. Life is unpredictable; sometimes circumstances arise unexpectedly, which happens in everyone’s life. But here, his situation has been exaggerated in such a way that he is being portrayed like a criminal, as if he is about to commit a crime and should be beaten or killed. Such things are being said. The abuses and insults that we have had to hear – we are well aware of it. Know from.”

while talking to ANIShashi Sinha, who has been with the actor for over 30 years, talked about an incident that happened last year. He did not reveal the date of the incident but said it happened between 3 and 3:30 am when a group of unidentified people allegedly gathered near the actor’s residence. He described the situation as tense and said that if Govinda had not acted instinctively to save himself, the situation could have escalated further. Insisting that the reaction was purely in self-defense, he said the actor “did nothing wrong.”

The manager said, “That night, around 3 to 3:30 am, a lot of people had gathered there. At that time Govinda had a mobile phone in his hand and if he had not also had a gun, God knows what could have happened.” He said, “We are extremely grateful that the situation did not escalate. If those people were truthful, they should have stood their ground and told who they were. Only because he had a gun, he was able to talk to them and make them go away.”

He said video footage of the incident exists and can be shared if needed. He said, “Everything is on video with me. I can show it if needed. There was something clearly wrong about the situation, even though their plan did not succeed. Later, they returned and I also reached there. It is all documented.”

The manager said that there was no security personnel present at the time, which increased the risk of the situation becoming serious. He said the matter was reported to the police and a formal admission was made at the local police station.

Although he did not give specific details, the manager confirmed that Govinda suffered injuries while acting in self-defense.

This clarification comes months after a separate high-profile incident in October 2024, when Govinda was hospitalized after being accidentally shot. At the time, police sources said there was no indication of foul play.

According to a PTI report, a team led by senior police inspector Daya Nayak had met the actor at the hospital, where Govinda reportedly told that his licensed revolver accidentally slipped and discharged when he was alone at home.
