Popular television actor Rithvik Dhanjani has joined Zakir Khan’s new TV show ‘Aapka Apna Zakir’, sources told IndiaToday.in. The comedy series will go on air next month and will also feature a few more actors and comedians.

A source close to the show told us, “Ritvik has already been signed by the makers and he is excited to get into the comedy zone with the show. Apart from him, Shweta Tiwari has also been approached for the show and if everything goes well, she too will sign the show soon.”

After gaining fame through Pavitra Rishta, Rithvik Dhanjani was last seen hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. His last acting project was the web show Cartel on ALTBalaji.

The source further added that the new comedy show will feature a mix of skits and celebrity interviews. For those who don’t know, Aapka Apna Zakir will replace The Kapil Sharma Show that airs on Sony TV, as The Kapil Sharma Show moved to Netflix.

The source added, “However, Zakir’s style is different from Kapil’s and he will play to his strengths. From his shayari, life lessons to stand-up, he will showcase it all on stage. He will also host celebrities and have some honest and fun conversations with them.”

On Friday, the comedian-turned-actor shared the latest promo of the show. It features huge cutouts of him placed across the city, leading to curiosity among people. While people expected him to become a politician and change people’s lives, he is seen on screen saying that he will do no such thing.
