FX has released the trailer Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn BessetteRyan Murphy’s latest installment love story The anthology offers an intimate but disturbing glimpse into one of America’s most scrutinized romances.

Starring Paul Anthony Kelly as John F. Kennedy Jr. and Sarah Pidgeon as Caroline Bessette Kennedy, the series traces their relationship from the initial spark to the crush of global attention. The trailer sets the initial atmosphere – romantic, glitzy, and increasingly claustrophobic – as love steadily collides with fame.

The preview begins with tender moments between the couple, before moving on to living life under flashing cameras, aggressive paparazzi and constant observation. In a touching exchange, Caroline tells JFK Jr., “There’s your world. And then there’s mine.” Later, she confessed, “It’s not a question of whether I want to spend the rest of my life with you. It’s a question of whether I’m ready to be Mrs. JFK Jr.”

JFK Jr. is portrayed as American royalty – effortlessly charismatic and endlessly watched – while Caroline emerges as intensely private and independent, struggling to maintain her sense of self amid the glare. The trailer highlights his work at Calvin Klein in the 1990s, outlining his influence on minimalist fashion and his discomfort with becoming a public spectacle.

Inspired by the book by Elizabeth Beller Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Caroline Bessette-KennedyThe series does not shy away from the tragedy that defined the couple’s legacy. JFK Jr., Carolyn, and their sister Lauren Bassett died in a plane crash on July 16, 1999 – an event that shocked the world and cemented their place in the American cultural memory.

Created by Connor Hines and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, the series examines romance, identity and the heavy cost of living a life in full public view.

The series will premiere on February 12, 2026.
