Dhurandhar has completed eight weeks at the box office. The spy-thriller earned Rs. Have earned Rs. Rs 1213 crore worldwide. Rs 942 crore (Rs 785 crore) and other funds have come from India. There has been an investment of Rs 271 crore (30.06 million US dollars) from the foreign market. This film starring Ranveer Singh is the second highest grossing Bollywood film of all time after Dangal. If we exclude China’s earnings, it beats Jawan and comes on top.
Notably, these are the earnings, despite not releasing in the Middle East, one of the major markets for Bollywood films. There, the film could have grossed US$10 million or more, which would mean over US$40 million overseas and Rs. More than 1300 crores worldwide.
The film is now streaming on Netflix, with its digital debut tomorrow night. Even in its eighth week, the film was doing record business in India, breaking the 25-year-old record previously held by Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The digital release is likely to drive a decline in business, so while it may not be taking off yet, the film is very close to it. It needs to be seen how much more it can add to its total, probably around Rs. About Rs 5 crore more, for completion. 1220 crores or so.
The box office performance of this film has always been the same. The atmosphere on the eve of release was disappointing, but the film performed remarkably in a day or so. By the end of its first week, it was on its way to history, and history of its own making. Dhurandhar is the highest grossing Hindi film of all time, earning only Rs. 800 crore nett mark in India. Part two is set to be released in March, and expectations are sky-high
