The Infinix Note 40 is the company’s latest smartphone that sports a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with several AI features. The device is an upgrade over the Infinix Note 40 Pro that was released in April this year. While the Note 40 is more affordable than the Pro model, it has several specifications and features that make the device look more premium than it actually is. When we reviewed the phone, all the features came together very well and I had a surprisingly good time testing the device. Here is a detailed review of the Infinix Note 40. The device was officially launched at Rs 19,999, but with bank offers, the price comes down to Rs 15,999. But even with bank offers, is the Infinix Note 40 worth it? Here are 4 reasons why you should buy the device and 1 reason why you shouldn’t buy it.

Infinix Note 40: 4 reasons to buy it

– Gorgeous Display: The most special feature of the Infinix Note 40 is its 6.78-inch AMOLED display, which has a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone has a beautiful flat display that gives a premium feel. The special thing is that this is the largest display in any smartphone in the segment under Rs 20,000. This makes watching content or playing games fun. The ultra-thin bezels are the best. The Infinix Note 40 also has a feature like iPhone’s Dynamic Island which shows information about the ongoing incoming call, recorder, charging status and face lock animation.

-Powerful Performance: The Infinix Note 40 delivers much better performance than you would expect. The first thing that caught my attention is that the device does not have any excessive bloatware. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 5G chipset, the phone comes with a clean XOS 14, which is based on Android 14. Along with this, the device has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The overall performance of the device has been exceptional, especially when you consider the price of the phone.

-wireless charging: The Infinix Note 40 is the first device to offer wireless charging under Rs 20,000. Under the hood, the smartphone supports 15W wireless charging. The device takes about an hour to charge up to 40 percent with wireless charging. Docking it on the MagPad is as easy as placing it on the charger. The wireless charging feature doesn’t give you a quick charge, but it is very convenient to keep on your work desk or your bedstand. Just place your phone on it and charge. The MagPad costs Rs 2,000. Though it is an additional cost, I think it is completely worth the money.

-24 Hour Battery Life: The Infinix Note 40 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and a 33W multimodal wired fast charger, which enables users to choose from Low Temperature, Smart, and Hyper Charging modes. Each of these modes has a different purpose. Read the detailed review to know about each feature.

The battery life on the Infinix Note 40 is good. It easily lasts a day even with moderate to heavy usage. When I played Call of Duty for more than 30 minutes, the battery dropped by only 10 percent. This happened when I attended a call in between and was also listening to music on Spotify during the session.

Infinix Note 40: 1 reason to skip it

Although the Infinix Note 40 is a great option for those who want to buy a smartphone under Rs 20,000, the device also has some flaws. The primary camera of the device clicks good pictures, but there are some flaws in the other modes. The device has a 108-megapixel triple rear camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. While reviewing the smartphone, I had to struggle with slow shutter speed and portrait mode.

Like most other smartphones, the Infinix Note 40 also uses on-device AI technology for post-processing of images. If you get a good and steady shot, the AI touch-ups make the images better. However, the processing takes a while. And when you put the shutter speed lag and the AI processing time together, the whole experience just becomes slow and boring, for lack of a better word.

So, unless you are specifically looking for a phone for photography, with the bank offer, the Note 40 at Rs 15,999 is a great deal and can make for a perfect phone for daily use.
