David Beckham’s first comments after son Brooklyn’s blowup: Children make mistakes
David Beckham has issued a statement amid the ongoing family dispute with son Brooklyn. Without mentioning his son by name, David talked about children learning from their mistakes.

David Beckham has responded to his son Brooklyn’s statement in which he claims his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, attempted to control his life and damaged his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz. David said in his first response that “kids are allowed to make mistakes.”
David, talking to cnbcSaid, “They make mistakes. Kids are allowed to make mistakes, that’s how they learn. So, I try to teach my kids that. But sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes, too.”
In an explosive social media post on January 20, the 26-year-old alleged that her mother suddenly pulled out of making Peltz’s wedding gown just ahead of the April 2022 ceremony. Brooklyn wrote that her mother “canceled making Nicola’s dress at the last hour despite being very excited to wear the dress she designed, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
Brooklyn also recalled a painful moment from her wedding day. She shared that singer Marc Anthony invited her on stage for her first dance with Nicola, but instead, her mother waited and danced with him. Brooklyn said the incident made her feel “uncomfortable and humiliated.” As a result, he and Nicola renewed their vows to replace memories with happiness in 2025.
Recently a red carpet video of 2023 resurfaced amid the family feud. In the video, Brooklyn is seen pulling his model wife Nicola Peltz over for a family photo, while she appears uncomfortable. It also shows Victoria Beckham looking elsewhere while posing with her son and daughter-in-law. The video is from the 2023 red carpet premiere of the Netflix documentary series beckhamAs reported Page Six.
Brooklyn has not yet responded to David’s comments.
