A few hours from now, the Madras High Court will resume hearing in the Jan Nayakan vs Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) case after the Supreme Court refused to intervene. Producers and fans of Thalapathy Vijay are eagerly waiting to see if the film will overcome the hurdles and release soon. Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan will hear the case on January 20 at 11:30 am.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court has directed the Madras High Court to decide the case on this date. Jana Nayakan, which is considered to be Vijay’s final film before his full political entry, was hit with problems when the CBFC withheld the censor certificate due to an internal complaint. After this the film was sent to the review committee.

A few days before the release, Jana Nayagan approached the Madras High Court where the Censor Board claimed that a new committee has been appointed to re-review the film.
