Dhanush and director Vignesh Raja are currently working on their upcoming film, tentatively titled D54. The makers have now officially announced that the name of the film is Kaara.

The official update was shared by the makers, releasing an intense first look featuring Dhanush. The actor is seen in an attractive new avatar, staring intensely. Along with the poster, the makers wrote, “D54 is Kaara. HappyPongal. Directed by Vignesh Raja. Produced by Ishari K. Ganesh. Musical by GV Prakash.” Apart from the Tamil poster, the makers have also made the title official in Telugu and Hindi.

Directed by Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja, Kaara is touted to be an emotionally based suspense thriller starring Mamita Baiju as the female co-lead, along with KS Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu and many others in pivotal roles. The film is being financed by Wales Film International.

Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in the Hindi language film Tere Ishq Mein. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film tells the story of a man named Shankar, who develops a relationship with Mukti while she is doing her PhD research on Mukti.
After Mukti ends their relationship, Shankar loses his temper and creates chaos before leaving his old life behind. Years later, when they meet again their unresolved past resurfaces and the film tells what happens to them next.
Tere Ishq Mein stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, along with Prakash Raj, Priyanshu Painyuli, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Chittaranjan Tripathi, Jaya Bhattacharya, Vineet Kumar Singh and many others in pivotal roles.
Looking ahead, the actor is reportedly set to collaborate with Amaran director Rajkumar Periyasamy on an upcoming project, which is expected to be financed by Dhanush himself.
Additionally, it was previously announced that Dhanush would be reuniting with director Mari Selvaraj for another film. Although more details about the project have not been revealed yet, the film will mark their second collaboration after Karnan.
