Samsung is preparing to launch Galaxy S26 Ultra soon. The next-generation flagship will take things a step further than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While the launch of the S26 Ultra is reportedly delayed, rumors have surfaced that give us a hint of what to expect from the Korean phone maker’s next top-of-the-line device.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely be a significant update over its predecessor with some improvements. Ahead of the device’s release, let’s take a look at some of the key upgrades that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to come to.

1. Design

Samsung has kept the design of its top-end flagships relatively unchanged since the S22 Ultra in 2022. However, this time, the Korean phone maker is expected to bring a major redesign. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely come with a new integrated camera module similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Additionally, the flagship phone is expected to come with more rounded corners.

2. Display

When it comes to display, Samsung is reportedly taking a different approach this year. Instead of relying solely on Qualcomm, the tech giant will use its own Exynos 2600 SoC in some markets. This chipset is the first smartphone processor to be built on the 2nm process and is expected to deliver a significant increase in performance as well as efficiency.

However, in other regions, Samsung is expected to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra. We will have to wait and see how the company decides to deliver different chipset variants.

3. Display

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be the first smartphone from the company to use its new M14 OLED display technology. Samsung claims that this panel will result in brighter visuals, better efficiency and extended lifespan.

The display is expected to be a 6.9-inch QHD+ panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Samsung will also likely introduce a new built-in privacy screen feature on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The anti-reflective coating that we first saw on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is also likely to be improved this time around.

4. Camera

While reports indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a quad-camera setup – a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto, and a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto – from its predecessor, we can still expect some notable improvements. According to the leak, Samsung is improving image processing for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which will likely deliver better skin tones and color accuracy in images.

5. Charging

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to use the same 5,000mAh battery pack as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung is likely to improve battery optimization, which could lead to better battery life. But the big change will probably be in the matter of charging.

The Korean giant is expected to bring 60W wired fast charging support for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The device may also come with Qi2 support for wireless charging, which would make it compatible with Apple’s MagSafe.

6. Construction and color

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with a titanium frame for superior durability. However, titanium generally makes it difficult for brands to use vibrant colors, and can also lead to poor thermal management.

According to reports, Samsung may take a lesson from Apple’s book and switch back to aluminum for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Apple went back from titanium to aluminum with the iPhone 17 Pro series.

This may also allow Samsung to use more vibrant colors for its flagship phones. The four preferred colors for the Galaxy S26 Ultra are Black Shadow, White Shadow, Galactic Blue, and Ultraviolet.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 Ultra along with the rest of the S26 series on February 25, 2026. Although we don’t know the official price yet, the company may keep it unchanged from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which was launched in India for Rs 1,29,999.
