Parvati, in an interview with Hauterflyrevealed that she had to go through trial and error while finding the right therapist for her. She admitted that although therapy was the best decision of her life, a wrong therapist could worsen the situation.

She said, “I had to go through a lot of bad experiences until I found my current therapist. I had a hard time finding a therapist who didn’t see me as a public figure. My first therapist was from the United States, so sessions were around 1-2 am. Among Indian therapists, there were some red flags because they are aware of the flaws within our culture. It’s all very painful.”

“There was a time when I felt very alone. I kept telling my friends that I was trying new therapists, but nothing was working. I used to think that my situation was beyond anyone’s help. The circumstances at that time were worrying. At times, I even experienced suicidal thoughts. During January-February 2021, I don’t remember clearly. “I’m now taking two types of therapy. The first is EMDR (Eye Movement Digitization and Processing), which changed my life, and now I have a trauma-informed therapist. So now my plate is full – work, friends, family, and attempting to find myself again through this process.
