Criticism was also leveled at the visual effects and the allocation of the film’s alleged Rs 400 crore budget, which audiences felt was not justified by the final product.
One of the X users wrote, “Verdict: Ultra disaster. Raja Saab Is a complete disaster. Unbearable from beginning to end, the film feels like a jumbled mess with no soul, no logic and no excitement. The story is paper thin, poorly written, and painfully drawn out just to fill the runtime (sic).

Another user echoed these sentiments, saying, “Weak execution spoils a unique idea and decent story! Maruti did what Maruti could do! Zarina Wahab in the pre-climax scene with Thaman’s BGM was the only scene where everything came together! The rest of it was half-baked with very little impact! (sic).”

Another review posted online gave a more measured presentation, listing both the positives and negatives of the film. The user commented, “Raja Saab Review – Average film, with some unnecessary scenes. Watch it with low expectations. I wonder why many scenes have been removed from the trailer. Positives: 1. Prabhas 2. Casting 3. BGM Negatives: 1. Some Maruti Mark cringe scenes 2. Unnecessarily high budget 3. Some VFX shots (sic).

A part of India Today’s review for the film reads, “Raja Saab Wastes its Rs 400 crore budget on a muddled script that jumps aimlessly between genres and locations. Despite Prabhas’ sporadic comic timing, the film lacks depth, cohesion and basic storytelling. What could have been an interesting horror comedy becomes a strange, strange three-hour ordeal that disrespects both the audience’s intelligence and the cinema itself.
Raja Saab Written and directed by Maruthi, and produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. The cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhi Agarwal, Malavika Mohanan (who is debuting in a Telugu film), Riddhi Kumar and Zarina Wahab.
