Jaaved Jaaferi criticizes current dance reality shows, wants Boogie Woogie 2.0
Javed Jaaferi criticized the current dance reality shows and said that they all look the same now. The actor was last seen in Ajay Devgan’s ‘De De Pyar De 2’ (2025).

Actor Javed Jaffrey has expressed his displeasure towards the current dance reality shows. He said that the present shows that regardless of the format the airs today seem indistinguishable from each other.
In an interview with The Times of India, Javed talked about dance reality shows and highlighted, “They all look the same. While the formats evolve, the main presentation rarely does. There is a lot of good talent around but when it comes to the shows, nothing really stands out.”
“Today, dancers watch everything online and choose styles from all over the world. At that time we did not have this kind of exposure. Our show (Boogie Woogie) was original. It was not copied. If it ever comes back, it should be version 2, different and fresh.”
dance reality television program Boogie Woogie It aired from 1996 to 2014, and is broadly recognized as one of the groundbreaking talent shows in Indian television history. Javed co-hosted the show with Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl and served as a judge.
Javed’s most recent appearance was in the film give give love 2Which hits theaters in November 2025. She shared the screen with Ajay Devgan, Rakul Preet Singh and her actor-son Meezaan Jaffrey in the film.
