Haq Suparn S Verma has expressed excitement over the tremendous response the film is receiving after its Netflix release.

Director Suparn S Verma reacts to the strong audience response to his film Right getting after this OTT release on NetflixStarring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, the film started streaming on January 2 and is now gaining a wider audience after its theatrical release,
Inspired by the historic Shah Bano case, Right Highlights the themes of justice, dignity and individual rights. Speaking about the response after the OTT premiere, Suparn S Varma expressed happiness that audiences who could not watch the film in theaters are now watching it at home. “Now that Right Streaming on Netflix, I woke up in the middle of the night to messages and DMs from people watching it. Since then, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing. With Netflix, the film has reached audiences across the globe, and the response has been truly overwhelming. People have been incredibly appreciative not only for the film, but also for the writing and acting of Emraan and Yami. “The emotional responses I have received have been very touching,” he said. Right Originally released in theaters in November 2025. The film follows the journey of Shazia, played by Yami Gautam Dhar, whose life changes when her husband Abbas Khan, played by Emraan Hashmi, takes a second wife and ends their marriage through triple talaq. The story then focuses on Shazia’s legal battle as she fights to reclaim her dignity and rights.
Sheeba Chaddha and Vartika Singh also have strong supporting performances in the film. Whereas Right received largely positive reviews from critics, struggled to make significant impact on box office Despite a budget of Rs 40 crore and earnings of around Rs 30 crore.
