Actor Akshaye Khanna, who recently received widespread praise for his performance in Dhurandhar, is reportedly no longer associated with Drishyam 3. According to industry reports, the actor has decided to walk away from the project following disagreements with the production team over remuneration and creative direction. Although the development has created a lot of buzz, there has been no official confirmation from Akshaye Khanna or the makers of the film yet.
Apparently, after the strong commercial success of Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna demanded a significant increase in his fees. The film’s impressive box office performance reportedly prompted the actor to renegotiate his compensation for Drishyam 3. However, discussions regarding remuneration are said to have failed to reach a mutual consensus.
Apart from financial concerns, reports also suggest that creative differences played a role in the actor’s decision. Akshay is said to have requested notable changes to his on-screen appearance for Drishyam 3, which reportedly was not in line with the makers’ vision for the film. These factors are believed to be the reason he reportedly backed out of the project. He said, sources indicate that the door is not completely closed and there remains a possibility that talks may resume at a later stage.
