During the red carpet premiere of the final season of stranger thingsBrown revealed that her co-star and close friend Noah Schnapp is her daughter’s godfather. She also mentioned fellow cast member Sadie Sink, saying, “Sadie is very, very maternal but Noah is her godfather.” “They all turn into the most emotional, soft versions of themselves (and) their baby voices come out when they’re around him,” Brown said.
Noah Schnapp, who grew up with Brown during the filming of Stranger Things, has opened up in interviews about how meaningful the role of the Godfather is to him. Schnapp said, “Oh, it’s such an honor. It’s crazy because we grew up together and we used to talk. When we were little kids, she’d say, ‘When I have a baby, you’re definitely going to be godfather to my baby,'” and reflected, “Then we grew up, she had a baby, and now I do.”
Schnapp continued to express his joy in seeing Brown transition into his new role as a parent. He commented, “Oh, it’s really the greatest joy,” adding, “It’s really crazy to me to see her grow up from such a wide-eyed, innocent young, silly girl, and now she’s a mom and married. And I’m so proud of her.”
Brown has largely decided to keep his daughter out of the public eye, but recently the girl appeared briefly during a promotional interview. During the interview with Schnapp, Brown’s daughter could be heard crying in the background, to which Brown responded, “That’s my baby,” and playfully added, “That’s my kitten.”
The bond between Schnapp and Brown has been frequently observed throughout their years of working together. Their friendship, which began in their early teens, has continued to grow, now spanning important milestones like parenthood and godparenthood.
