Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Akhanda 2: Thandavam releases in theaters on December 12, 2025. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the fantasy action drama film is the sequel to 2021’s Akhand. Now, it seems like the makers have decided where the streaming of the film will start after its theatrical run is over.
Akhand 2 on OTT: Where to watch the movie online after its theatrical run
According to multiple reports, including a report by OTTPlay, Akhand 2: Thandavam will start streaming on OTT platform Netflix after completing its theatrical run.
Apparently, the makers have struck a deal with the streaming giant, with the streaming date likely to be four weeks from the theatrical release. As the film has received mixed reviews from critics, it is expected that the film will start streaming by mid-January 2026. However, there has been no official confirmation from the manufacturers.
Interestingly, the first installment of the film, Akhand (2021), is currently available for streaming on JioHotstar.
Akhand 2: Thandavam official trailer and plot
Akhand 2: Thandavam continues to serve as a direct continuation of the first installment. The film depicts an enemy country plotting to attack India through biological warfare by spreading a virus that has the potential to cause harm. However, Murali Krishna’s daughter, 16-year-old Janani, is a prodigy and has managed to create a vaccine against the coming threat.
Since her medicine will work as a cure, Janani’s life is in danger after being targeted by an enemy country. Now, as promised, her uncle Akhand Rudra Sikandar Aghora, a powerful Aghori warrior with divine powers, has re-emerged to protect her and confront these threats.
How Aghora uses his supernatural power to protect his niece and the nation is explored in the rest of the film.
Akhand 2: Thandavam cast and crew
Akhand 2: Thandavam stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in dual roles, similar to the first film. Apart from him, the lead cast includes Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Viji Chandrasekhar, Kabir Duhaan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Ronson Vincent and many others in lead roles.
Written and directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film was produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and Ishaan Saxena under the banners of 14 Reels Plus Entertainment and IVY Entertainment.
As Thaman S handled the music compositions, the film’s cinematography was done by C. Ramprasad and Santosh Detek. Tammiraju served as editor.
