R Madhavan hits back at Dhurandhar’s criticism: Wonders if there’s an agenda
Actor R Madhavan reacted to the criticism and negative reviews regarding ‘Dhurandhar’. He linked the early negative reviews to patterns he had seen in his previous films and expressed concern about the impact of such reviews on public perception.

Actor R Madhavan, who plays a pivotal role in Aditya Dhar’s recently released film stalwarthas talked about the polarized reactions the film has received since its release. The film, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt, received initial negative reviews.
Madhavan expressed surprise at the response, with some critics calling it a “disaster” on the day of its release.
in an interview with Esquire IndiaMadhavan said, “When I heard stalwart And saw the impeccable research done by Aditya Dhar, the fearlessness of the man, the uniqueness of his storytelling – these were the signals I got before the release of my film. I knew it was going to have an impact on society. There will be people who will first give it a very poor rating and then there will be people who will suddenly go and be surprised, ‘Wow, this happened’.
Speaking on the fairness of negative reviews of the film, Madhavan said, “You are free to express your opinion, but even before the film was released, obituaries were written, and upon its release, you posted a review calling it a disaster. Wonder if there is an agenda,” he said.
Madhavan also discussed the challenges faced by actors during public scrutiny. He added, “But as an actor, we struggle with this situation. Please don’t forget, no matter what your opinions and agenda are, we are very much a family, and this is our job, no matter how much you like or dislike a product or a person. Don’t take a dig at the industry like an outsider. We’ve already had enough.”
