Zootopia 2 is making waves left, right and center at the box office. Due to the franchise value and the positive reception surrounding the sequel, the latest Disney outing has proven to be a massive moneymaker at the global box office. Released on November 25, 2025, Zootopia 2 grossed over US$600 million in its 8-day theatrical run, including China collections.
The film grossed US$426.1 million from over 52 international markets, while its domestic gross reached US$163.1 million, bringing the global gross to US$589.2 million. Adding US$11 million from China’s second Tuesday, the film has already touched the US$600 million mark.
With such an impressive performance, the film has already overtaken Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning at the worldwide box office. For the record, according to Box Office Mojo, Mission: Impossible 8 completed its box office journey with around US$598.76 million. Zootopia 2 is now the ninth highest-grossing film of 2025 worldwide.
Based on current trends, the Disney animation film is all set to surpass the all-time collections of Superman and F1 on its 9th day (2nd Wednesday) at the worldwide box office. Let us tell you, Superman had collected US $ 616.6 million, while Brad Pitt’s F1 ended its journey at the box office at US $ 631.4 million.
It is expected to cross the US$700 million mark on its second Friday, and then move towards US$800 million. Going by the current pace, the film will probably cross the US$1 billion mark at the worldwide box office in the next week. It even has the potential to generate USD 1.5 billion worth of business throughout its tenure, depending on how it performs in the coming weeks. If it succeeds in achieving this feat, it will become Hollywood’s highest-grossing film this year.
