The gathering took place in a South Indian restaurant, where the warmth of the company contrasted with his inner sense of mourning.

In his blog, Amitabh wrote, “The images and emotions of the past are still alive, and the mind and body are unresponsive to the work routine.. But they keep saying ‘the show must go on’.. Whoever said this may mean well and with some positivity, but those who are suffering are bearing the brunt of the suffering that is yet to be filtered…(sic)”

She further added, “After a day’s work the KBC crew took me out for dinner with them.. a lovely South Indian place.. delicious food and company.. but heart aching.. even more so because none of them knew it was Babuji’s birth anniversary.. to each their own…(sic).”

Reflecting on his family history, Amitabh first discussed his parents’ marriage. He wrote, “My mother was from a Sikh family and my father was from a Kayastha family from Uttar Pradesh. Their families protested for some time, but they agreed and all bonds were restored. I am talking about the year 1942. My father deliberately named us Bachchan, because the surname (Srivastava) denotes caste. (sic)”

Apart from personal family memories, the veteran actor recently mourned his demise cinder Co-star, Dharmendra. In his blog, he referred to Dharmendra as “a brave demon” and wrote, “Another brave demon is gone leaving a silence among us with an unbearable sound.”

He described Dharmendra as an “epitome of greatness, associated not only for his renowned physical presence but also for the largeness of his heart and its most endearing simplicity.” Amitabh wrote, “He brought with him the soil of the village in Punjab from where he came and remained true to his nature throughout his illustrious career, in a fraternity that saw changes every decade. The fraternity changed, not him.”

He further wrote, “His smile, his charm and his warmth extend to everything that comes around him, which is rare in the profession.”
