Kantara Chapter 1 Worldwide Closing Box Office Collection: 2nd Highest Sandalwood Film Till Date With Over Rs 800 Crore

The box office performance of Kantara: Chapter 1 is almost over. The film made Rs. 50 lakh in its eighth week, taking its total to Rs. Approximately 701 crores. The film has earned another crore. It grossed ₹112.50 crore (USD 12.63 million) overseas, bringing its total worldwide box office collection to Rs. Approximately Rs 813.50 crore.

The film, starring Rishabh Shetty, is the highest-grossing Indian film of the year domestically and worldwide. It is the second biggest Sandalwood film of all time after KGF Chapter 1. Overall, it is the seventh highest-grossing film of all time in India and thirteenth worldwide.

In its home state, Karnataka, the film is the highest-grossing film of all time by a considerable margin, surpassing the original Kantara by more than 30 percent. The next best performers for the film are Tamil Nadu and Kerala, in the former, the film grossed six times more than the original Kantara. The Hindi dubbed version of the film also performed well and collected Rs. 208 crores. The film’s opening in Hindi was not very good as per trade expectations, but it eventually did well and performed brilliantly.
