Aamir Khan introduced son Azad to Dharmendra, missing from prayer meeting

Aamir Khan has shared information about his close relationship with Dharmendra. The superstar opened up about the heart-touching moment when he took his son Azad to meet the late popular star. He also explained the reason for his absence from the prayer meeting.

Aamir Khan has talked about his personal relationship with late actor Dharmendra. He remembered that special day when he introduced his son Azad to this great personality. The actor said that he has grown closer to Dharmendra in the last one year.

At the 56th International Film Festival of India, Aamir said, “One day, I took Azad with me, you know, my son. I said, ‘I want you to meet someone’ because Azad hasn’t really seen his work. But Azad came with me, and we spent a couple of hours with him, and it was really wonderful. You know, Dharamji was not only such a good actor, but he was also a great human being.”

The actor expressed his admiration towards Dharmendra’s career and said, “Well, I grew up watching him. He was known as an action hero and He-Man.” He emphasized the late actor’s versatility, saying, “And of course, he was extremely good at, you know, portraying these strong characters in action films. But I think he is underrated. Be it romance or his performances in different genres, he has done very well.”

Aamir also praised Dharmendra’s range and said, “He does amazing comedy, he does amazing romance, you know, drama. So, according to me, Dharamji was one of our finest actors. I’ve always really looked up to him.”

The 60-year-old also explained his absence from the prayer meeting organized for cinder actor. He said, “Today, actually, I am not there in Bombay, but unfortunately today is his prayer meeting. I am missing it. And I was very close to him because in the last year, I would have met him many times. I really enjoyed his company so I used to go and sit with him.”

Aamir described the warmth and kindness that Dharmendra showed towards everyone he met. The actor said, “He was very gentle. No matter who he met, whether it was a colleague or someone from outside the industry, he always showed a lot of warmth and softness in meeting people. So, he was a wonderful person, he was a great actor and it’s a big loss for all of us.”

stars on the ground The actor was among several celebrities from the industry who attended Dharmendra’s funeral. These included Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jeetendra, Sanjay Dutt, Abhay Deol, Shatrughan Sinha and others who paid tribute to him.

Dharmendra, remembered as the He-Man of Bollywood, died on November 24 at the age of 89.
