Xiaomi announces its next smartphone for India, it is Redmi 15C 5G and it will launch on December 3
Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi 15C 5G is coming to India on December 3, 2025. It is the follow-up to the Redmi 14C 5G and is expected to be priced lower than the Redmi 15 5G. here are the details.

After a short period of silence, Xiaomi is ready to launch its next smartphone in India. The phone in question is a Redmi, more precisely the Redmi 15C 5G, which means it is an entry-level phone that is expected to be priced around Rs 10,000. The 15C is expected to be more affordable than the Redmi 15 – Xiaomi’s last phone to hit Indian shores in August 2025. In a teaser shared on social media, the company highlighted, “Make your way into 2026 like a true boss,” and said, “Get ready for the arrival of the supreme power, the ultimate evolution, a true ruler of the segment.” Redmi 15C 5G is confirmed to launch in India on December 3.
The teaser graphic shared alongside gives us a silhouette of the upcoming Redmi 15C, which matches perfectly with the model sold in some European markets. That’s right: the 15C isn’t exactly new, but it’s been around since at least September, meaning it launched shortly after the Redmi 15 was launched in India. In some markets, Xiaomi also sells a 4G variant of the Redmi 15C, although only the 5G Redmi 15C is coming to India at the moment. India Today Tech will update you if plans change.
Since the phone is already available elsewhere, we can take an educated guess as to what might be in store based on the specifications and features found in global markets. The Redmi 15C 5G sold in Europe features a 6.9-inch LCD display with 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel has a waterdrop-style notch. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 which comes with 4GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. For photography, it has a 50-megapixel single camera at the back and an 8-megapixel camera at the front. Running the show is a 6,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Xiaomi does not bundle a charger in the box where it currently sells the phone.
The Redmi 15C has a newer design than the Redmi 14C it replaces. The cameras are now aligned vertically instead of inside a circular module like the Redmi 15. The phone is IP64 rated for dust and water resistance and comes in Midnight Black, Dusk Purple and Mint Green options. Biometrics are handled by a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Interestingly, rival Realme is preparing to launch Realme P4X in India on December 4. Logic suggests that both phones can compete against each other, in which case Realme seems to have the edge with relatively more powerful specifications including the Dimensity 7400 Ultra and a 7,000 mAh battery.
