Deepika Padukone responds to a fan’s request for a rom-com with Ranbir Kapoor
Deepika Padukone recently reacted to a fan’s social media reel requesting the actor for a rom-com with Ranbir Kapoor after ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.
A recent Instagram reel created by fans asking filmmakers to cast Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in a romantic comedy has sparked renewed interest among Bollywood enthusiasts. Deepika Padukone, known for her first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor in three popular films, has responded to the appeal, which has got all the fans excited. The fans’ request comes almost ten years after the pair last shared the screen in ‘Tamasha’ (2015), a film known for their chemistry.
The Instagram reel, which was originally posted by user Sonalika Puri, expressed her wish to see the actors together again. Puri said in his video, “This is a humble appeal to all the directors and producers, can you guys cast Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in a film together? Preferred a rom-com?” TeaWe keep saying that picture vendors are not making money, people are not coming to the theatre. you cast them along (You guys say movies aren’t working and people don’t come to theaters anymore, but first cast those two again and see)!” The petition was liked by many fans, who highlighted the past successes of the actors’ collaboration.

Deepika’s engagement with the reel was immediately noticed by social media users. Many comments came under the post, including ‘Deepika liked this reel oh my god.’ And ‘she liked it!!’ This means the DP is ready!’ These interactions contributed to the momentum of online talks, although none of the actors have made any official statements regarding a new project together.
For those unaware, reports had surfaced a few weeks ago that Ranbir and Deepika might be coming together for a film directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Ranbir under RK Studios. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in ‘Singham Again’ and will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’. She also has another film with Allu Arjun. Ranbir Kapoor’s recent projects include ‘Animal’, and he is set to star in ‘Love and War’ and Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayan’.
