Actor Vivek Oberoi recently said that there is a possibility that the world will forget Shahrukh in the next few decades. He emphasized that a person like Raj Kapoor is like a god for film lovers, but the present generation might not even know about him.

Vivek, in an interview with pinkvillaSaid, “If you ask anyone today about who acted in which film in the 1960s, no one cares. You will go down in history anyway.” In 2050 people will say who is Shahrukh Khan, maybe (In 2050, people might ask, ‘Who is Shahrukh Khan?’, perhaps).”

“As people may ask today, ‘Who is Raj Kapoor?’ We and you call him the God of cinema, but if you ask any young fan of Ranbir Kapoor, he might not even know who Raj Kapoor was. So history may push you into the void,” he said.

Vivek was last seen in the historical action film ‘Kesari Veer’ starring Sooraj Pancholi, Sunil Shetty and others in pivotal roles. His next release will be Nitish Tiwari’s epic ‘Ramayana’ starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as demon king Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta and others.

Shahrukh’s last theatrical release was Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunky’ (2023). The film also featured Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, Vicky Kaushal and others in important roles.

The actor will next be seen in director Siddharth Anand’s ‘King’, starring his actor-daughter Suhana Khan along with Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat and others in lead roles.

The film is backed by Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth and Mamta Anand’s Marflix Pictures.
